Support UMHC > Estate Gift Planning

Where there's a WILL, there's a way to provide for the care of children forever. After carefully planning for their loved ones, many of our friends have thoughtfully made provisions for our kids through estate planning. Making a planned gift to the Children's Home is a wonderful way to pass on the rewards of your life's work and provide for the future of children in care. Bequests through your will, charitable gift annuities, and charitable remainder trusts are all very popular ways to help secure the ministry of the Children's Home. Other methods of making a charitable donation include gifts of paid-up life insurance policies, property, real estate, or securities. Most gifts are tax-deductible. Please speak to your accountant, attorney, or financial advisor on how making any type of gift may apply to your financial situation.

If you are interested in making a planned gift to the Children's Home, please click here or contact Kathy Eppley, VP/Chief Development Officer at 717.766.7652 for more information.

Please remember the children in your will.

United Methodist Home for Children, Inc.
Mechanicsburg, PA

Frederick and Charles Daron's concern for abused children will transcend their lifetime for generations. Following a visit to the United Methodist Home for Children in Mechanicsburg, PA, --and witnessing first-hand the great need of the children - the two bachelor brothers decided to help by providing for UMHC in their wills. The resulting $600,000 bequest allowed UMHC to open an emergency shelter on their existing 83 acre campus.

Since 1997, over 2,000 abused, neglected, and abandoned children have found refuge in the Frederick C. and Charles E. Daron Emergency Shelter. The brothers' vision was to "Leave A Lasting Legacy" dedicated to helping young lives in need. Each year, that vision grows and extends far beyond what these caring and wonderful individuals could have ever imagined. While the Frederick C. and Charles E. Daron Emergency Shelter provides abused children with housing, daily necessities, clothing, counseling, education, and special services, it also provides the children with a priceless gift: hope.
